Wine Tasting and Romance in Woodinville

Wine lovers will fall in love with the charming town of Woodinville Washington, just 30 minutes from Seattle. What used to be a logging and farming community is now full of lovely wineries and tasting rooms, fabulous restaurants and romantic accommodations.
There are more than 100 wineries to visit in Woodinville, each with its own style and impressive wine list. However, a visit to the gorgeous Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery is a must on a romantic getaway in Woodinville. The beautiful chateau sits on 105 acres of scenic wooded land. You will be wowed by the atmosphere as well as the wine. In the summer months, there are concerts on the lawn where you can enjoy a picnic and a bottle of wine.
Naturally, a romantic getaway in Washington state must include a good meal or two. Woodinville has lots of great eateries from casual to fine dining. For an extra special romantic dining experience book in advance at the Herbfarm. Here you’ll enjoy an incredible 9-course tasting menu that changes daily. If you can’t get a reservation at the Herbfarm, the Barking Frog is another great option.

Romantic Places to Stay in Walla Walla

Another destination for a wine and foodie romantic getaway in Washington is Walla Walla. The quaint historic downtown has tasting rooms, an abundance of dining options and cute boutique shops. Surrounding the downtown area are tree-lined streets with beautiful heritage homes, some of which are now romantic guesthouses and B&B’s. Leaving downtown Walla Walla will take you into the scenic countryside with more than 1200 wineries and 2800 acres of vineyards.
Spend the day exploring the wineries which range from small production family-run places to large-scale, world-class wine producers. Wherever you go you’ll be greeted with a friendly smile and treated to fun and delicious tastings. If you somehow tire of the beautiful countryside and wineries you can do a walking tour of the lovely historic homes around the town of Walla Walla.
In the evening, head downtown for more tastings followed by dinner at one of the many incredible eateries. Passatempo Taverna, The Vine and The Marc are just a few of the options for a delicious and romantic experience. If you enjoy live music you’ll find it at several of the tastings rooms and bars around town.
There is also no shortage of romantic accommodations in Walla Walla. The Marcus Whitman Hotel has been a landmark since 1927 and is a good choice for a downtown full-service hotel. Eritage Resort is surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards and each suite has a private patio to take in the view. Loving Leavenworth

Take a romantic trip to Bavaria less than three hours from Seattle. Leavenworth is a Bavarian-themed town in the stunning Cascade mountains and it’s one of the top romantic getaways in Washington State any time of year.
Downtown Leavenworth has streets lined with Alpine-style buildings which are home to boutique shops, restaurants, bars and tasting rooms. Waterfront Romance in Port Townsend

Port Townsend is a whimsical Victorian Seaport town known to be a favorite for romantic getaways in Washington state. It’s situated on the naturally gorgeous Olympic Peninsula and has a vibrant arts community and tasty food scene.
Spend your days browsing the boutique shops and galleries in historic downtown or take a romantic beach walk and have a waterside picnic. If you’re in Port Townsend on a weekend you might enjoy high tea at Cafe Tenby, but make sure to reserve a table in advance. Another romantic option is to go for a couple’s private saltwater soak or infrared sauna at Soak on the Sound.
In the evening check out a tasting room or brewery before dinner at one of the many great restaurants. Finistére is usually the first name you’ll hear when asking for dinner recommendations. It’s farm-to-table with an Italian twist. The Alchemy Bistro and Wine Bar is a great date night option and they often have live music. There’s also the intimate and eclectic Fountain Cafe for a cozy and tasty experience.
If a historic waterfront hotel spells romance for you then look no further than the Belmont, built in 1889. Sunsets in the San Juan Islands

The beautiful San Juan Islands are a perfect destination for a romantic Washington state getaway. The three most populated and visited of the more than 150 islands are Orcas Island, Lopez Island and San Juan Island. All have stunning natural beauty with lots of outdoor activities, picturesque towns and charming accommodations.
Hiking, boating and whale watching are some of the top activities on the islands. But there are also boutique shops and galleries, great restaurants, vineyards and spas to round out your island experience. Plus if you’ve always wanted to try “forest bathing” you can do it here.
